Healthcare Plan Coverage
Healthcare helps pay for the growing number of healthcare expenses not paid for by provincial health plans. Building on the base government plan, Group Insurance offers comprehensive coverage for supplies and services not covered or not fully covered by the government plan.
Healthcare coverage includes:
Prescription drugs: A range of drug plan options that allow you to better manage the rising cost of prescription drugs, while providing your plan members with the coverage they need.
Some of the benefits include:
Multilingual assistance to locate hospitals, clinics and physicians
Medical evacuation if suitable local care is not available
Transportation reimbursement for missed trips home due to hospitalization.
Prescription drug payment methods include:
Traditional reimbursement – the plan member pays for prescriptions, then submits a claim for the amount covered by the plan.
Card point-of-sale reimbursement – the pharmacist submits claims electronically at the point of sale, and the plan member only pays for any amount not covered by the plan.
Diagnostic services for lab and X-rays
Medical supplies and services (for example, orthopedic equipment, diabetic supplies, and prosthetic equipment)
